The Metzler's Trailer Wingless Super Sportsman raced their June 13th rainout date race on Saturday night for The Jeff Jacobs Memorial with Steve Wilbur claiming the checkered after a 30 lap one on one

The Metzler's Trailer Wingless Super Sportsman raced their June 13th rainout date race on Saturday night for The Jeff Jacobs Memorial with Steve Wilbur claiming the checkered after a 30 lap one on one competition with Trent Yoder.

The Wingless Super Sportsman were brought to the wave of the green by polesitters Trent Yoder and Steve Wilbur with Yoder taking the first lap lead, but with Wilbur feeling the air from his tires as he kept the pressure on for 24 laps before making a final move on the leader to gain the top position. Yoder kept the momentum to let Wilbur know he was within talking distance as they encountered the back of the line; slowing their speed but not their need as they continued their rivalry to the last lap with Wilbur taking the checkered less than half a second ahead of Yoder. Jason Failor finished third, followed by Brad Mellott and Derek Sheaffer. Derek Sheaffer received the Hard Charger Award and Sam Leonard received the Hard Luck Award. Steve Wilbur had the best lap going 68.007 MPH in 13.234 seconds.

The T.A. Ward Construction 270 Micro Sprints ran their rainout feature from July 15th with Cory Myers taking the lead on green as Jason Houtz, Brady Paull, Craig Myers and Brad Cowan claimed the top five positions. Myers had it in high gear as he encountered the rear of the field by midrace; having no hesitation controlling the lapped traffic around him as he raced over 76 MPH. The top five held their positions from green to checkered as Cory Myers claimed the win. Zach Glass was running in sixth position till after midrace when his racer and Kodiak Hockensmith's were both retired to the pits. Bailey Green, Dylan Pryor, Blake Ludwig and Will Keras joined the top five in completing the full 20 lap feature.

The Macri Concrete 600 Sprints met the wave of the green with Tanner Pressley & Dan Bair in charge of the front, but a prelap caution for Ben Freels brought the drivers to a restart as Freels machine was taken to the pits after coming to a stop in turn 3. Bair pulled to the lead on green as 5th place starter, Hunter McFadden maneuvered his racer to 2nd in one lap. Pressley held third as Josh Smith and Dylan Anderson ran the top five.

Corey Bowmaster got his ride into the turn 4 infield on lap 3, going to the rear, as Bair set the pace for a restart, only to encounter an additional caution for Marvin Albright who went into the turn 4 infield, joining his racemates at the rear. Bair, McFadden, Pressley, Smith and Dylan Anderson ran the top five till lap 8 when Mike Sherman made a move on Anderson, taking control of fifth place as Randy Kunkle Jr. and Ayden Hare pulled behind Anderson.

Bair was on the move traveling 75.402 MPH in 11.936 seconds on his best lap, but the competition behind him was putting on the pressure as the tenth-place runner was only 2 seconds behind Bair! On lap 14, 3rd place runner, Hunter McFadden, stopped at the exit ramp with smoke being released from his racer, putting him out of the race. Bair was maintaining the front, Pressley moved into second and Sherman had pulled into third spot ahead of Smith and Kunkle where the top five remained till the final lap, as Bair took the victory.

The 305 Sprints entered the track with a 24-car line-up headed by Mariah Romig and Andrew Boyer. On green, cautions created put Colton Hoover in the pits with a left rear flat tire, Andrew Boyer to the rear and Seth Schnoke being towed. The reline had Kruz Kepner & Romig at the front with Drew Young putting pressure on Romig, taking 2nd by lap 5. With 5 laps complete, A.J. Barton got out of control in turn four, putting him to the rear and Eric Mathiot being towed. Chris Kreider also left the circuit on lap five putting the restart with Kepner, Young, Reed, Rhodes and Owen Dimm in the top five. Another caution put Barton back to the garage area; Swift out with a tire loose; and Dave Wickham being towed to the pits. Kepner, Young, Reed, Rhodes, and Logan Spahr were now in the top five till lap 17 when Romig and Young were passing 2nd position back & forth with Young finally taking the spot as Kepner collected the checkered flag.

The Metzler.s Trailer Wingless Super Sportsman lineup had Derek Sheaffer and Sam Leonard in pole positions with Sheaffer taking the lead on green as Jason Failor, Brett Perigo, Sam Leonard and Trent Yoder went into battle for 2nd as Craig Perigo was piloting his machine from 9th place into the top five.

Sheaffer maintained his lead for 9 laps till Craig Perigo finished his mission to take the lead. Sheaffer was now sandwiched between Craig and Brett Perigo with Trent Yoder and Jason Failor in the wings. Twenty laps were in the books when Brett Perigo made his move, passing Sheaffer and moving in behind Craig Perigo for 2nd. Sheaffer held control of 3rd as Yoder and Failor maintained their top five finishes. Craig Perigo had the best lap speed going 71.497 MPH in 12,558 seconds.

The 4th of July returned to Path Valley Speedway when the T.A. Ward Construction 270 Sprints hit the grid as sponsor, Tod Ward, covered the oval with a serenade of fireworks to greet the drivers & fans who had their cameras ready for the spectacular show of color.

Cory Thorton & Steve Bull were at the helm of the 21-car lineup but on green, Thorton & Bull were joined by Jason Houtz as they passed the flag stand 3 abreast with Houtz taking the lead. The top three held their positions with Craig and Cory Myers pulling into the top five as they ran 11 nonstop laps before Steve Bull pulled by Houtz to take the lead.

Six laps were remaining when a collision occurred coming out of turn 1 with Brayden Mickley going to the pits and Cory Myers, who received a direct hit to the side of his racer, accompanying his damaged car to victory lane where he would be interviewed for his rainout race win. Houtz, who was also caught in the wreck, went to the rear, putting Steve Bull at the front, Dylan Pryor followed by Craig Myers, Brady Paull, Adrian Shaffer and Cory Thorton.

On green, Bull held the lead for four laps and then at full throttle rounded turn one but kept going straight into the middle of the turn 1 & 2 wall. Bull's departure put Craig Myers in the lead on the restart where he remained till the checkered lap, followed by Paull, Shaffer, Thorton, and Dylan Pryor. Bill Laughman had the best lap traveling 75.491 MPH in 11.922 seconds.

The Cisney Auto Parts Thunder Cars entered the oval for their feature event with Jermy Eutzy and Cameron Defenderfer in the front row when the flag waved green with Eutzy pulling to the lead while Defenderfer and Travis Burkholder were door to door for 2nd.

Kevin Bard was piloting his machine to the front, passing Burkholder and moving into 3rd place. Five laps were complete when a caution came out for the leader, who had a flat tire, putting him into the pits for a tire change, while Terry Perry made his second trip to the fourth turn infield, putting him to the rear. The reline put Defenderfer, Bard, Burkholder, Nicholas Barthalow and Austin Betz in the top five as Eutzy returned to the rear of the line.

Another caution flag came out when a crash in turn four put Colby Adams, Logan Eppley, and Roger Traxler in the pits and Ryland Betz to the rear. Defenderfer, Bard, Burkholder, Jackson Eutzy and Barthalow controlled the top five spots on the restart with Defenderfer in the hot seat as the oval went green, putting the racers into a two and three abreast competition as they battled for the lead.

Defenderfer and Bard were wheel to wheel with Bard taking over the lead and remaining at the top till the finish. Bard acknowledged his nephew - Cameron Defenderfer - as maybe getting better than he is!! Cameron Defenderfer had the best lap going 62.292 MPH in 14.448 seconds.
